Cathedral Mountains Backpack Expedition (5 days):
Pre-Expedition (1 Day)
Day One:
- Get to know each other including an introduction to the expedition and program.
-Equipment fitting and discussion on preparing for the expedition, which includes packing, food, safety and overall plan.
Expedition (4 Days)
Day One:
-Transportation via bus to Cathedral Mountain base from Vernon, BC (approx 3.5hours).
-Take private JEEP service to base camp to set-up camp. (May hike to base camp depending on group, weather, time, etc.
-Discuss local ecology and safety.
Days Two-Three:
-Days hikes to Cathedral Rim and various meadows, lakes, glacial features, extinct volcanoes and snow fields.
-Discuss local geology, mountaineering safety
-Communication and getting to know activities.
Day Four:
-Use Private JEEP service to transport from base-camp to bottom of mountain
-Transportation via bus back to Vernon.
-Debrief.
