EQ offers competitive pricing for educational programs. when compared to other outdoor programs in north america who run for a significantly shorter period of time and do not include near the same number of course credits, the costs of tuition for EQ are more than reasonable. also worth noting is that outdoor tourism costs offered by businesses for similar EQ expeditions far exceed those of EQ. so, you get to surf, ski, kayak, hike, helicopter, tour and get school credits at a relatively affordable cost.
EQ fees include the following, wherein the bulk of our budget goes to transportation; all educational fees, all transportation (busing, ferries, sea-taxi, helicopter, support vehicles), use of all equipment (ocean kayaks, river kayaks, paddles, PFD's, mountaineering gear, tele skiis, boots, poles, skins, beacons, GPS, helmets, wetsuits, shovels, rope, technical hardware, skimboards, backpacks, safety gear, research gear, tarps, wall tents), park fees, permits, hostel lodging, chalet lodging, guiding, teacher-mentor costs.
some personal gear may be rented from EQ, such as sleeping bags, tents, etc. for more infor mation on equipment see this page.
to offset the cost of the program, admitted students are encouraged to discuss fund-raising opportunities with parents. financial assistance will be in-place to assist those who can demonstrate financial need. please contact us to discuss these options. also, while we are doing our best to raise donations from private and corporate sponsors, any and all assitance is graciously accepted.
Once students have applied and been admitted into the EQ program, a non-refundable deposit will be required that will be applied to the overall cost of the program. in addition to the deposit, post-dated cheques for all expeditions must be submitted at the first 'parent night' meeting. the parent night meeting will be noted in an acceptance letter.
EQ's total program costs including everything is approximately $3,800 plus applicable taxes
